Concerned Black Men joins the National Mentoring Partnership, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the Harvard School of Public Health and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention as a national partner of the National Mentoring summit to be convened January 24 -25 at The Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Washington DC --- Concerned Black Men joins the following founding partners of the first National Mentoring Summit last January: America’s Promise Alliance, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, City Year, College Success Foundation, Communities In Schools, Dare Mighty Things, Inc., Mentoring USA, National Alliance of Faith and Justice, National Dropout Prevention Center, National Collaboration for Youth, National CARES Mentoring Movement, Point of Light Institute and United Way Worldwide. Summit partners provide input on the annual event’s planning and have a presence at the Summit. “To have Concerned Black Men is another terrific step in bringing all sectors together under the youth mentoring tent so we can better serve the children in America who want and need a caring adult in their lives,” said MENTOR President and CEO Dr. Larry Wright. “We are delighted that these organizations are part of this team.” The theme for the 2012 National Mentoring Summit is "Invest in the Future. Mentor a Child". Early bird registration is already available. The Fairmont Hotel is offering Summit attendees a discounted government rate on sleeping room accommodations.
