Concerned Black Men Capital City Cares® Mentoring Project observes the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King

Washington DC - While many businesses and schools nationwide were closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, the CBM National Staff, mentors and mentees of the CBM Capital City Cares® Mentoring Project spent the morning of January 18th showing their willingness to serve.

CBM Mentors and Mentees participate in a Day of Service during MLK Holiday

More than 25 mentors, mentees and parents from the Capital City Cares® Mentoring Project used the MLK holiday as a “day on” not a day off. The group gathered at the Washington Post to assemble first aid kits and prepared food products for the homeless.  Many of the mentees and their parents had the opportunity to make cards that will be sent to our troops overseas.  It was a great day for everyone, especially our mentees who learned a valuable lesson that even they can make a difference in the lives of others!
